Answering Interview Questions
To answer questions about "future plans," Dick Gaither’s Skill Stalking workbook
suggests that you choose two statements from each of the following categories. The
examples are only suggestions:
Employment Future
Stay with the company as long as you want me and as long as I am productive.
Use my current skills to do the best job possible so I’ll be considered for advancement.
Look for ways to get the job done better.
Learn how to do the job well, before I try for other positions.
Help my supervisor do good work so there’s room for me closer to the top of the
ladder.
Help the company make money so I guarantee myself steady work.
Educational Future
Enroll in classes so I can do my job better.
Learn new skills to make me a more valuable employee.
Try to get as much OJT as I can and learn as much as I can from other people in
the know.
Plan to read up in the field so I can work smarter.
Explore other company work areas that might interest me, but later.
Learn so much I’ll be able to teach the job to others.
Life Future
Stay single and work until I develop a rewarding career in this field.
Pursue my hobby activities of ...
Involve myself with volunteer work and help people who are less fortunate than myself.
Work toward buying some property to ensure my security.
Work hard to get the most out of my life by trying to find ways to make sure that
my job and my life all work together.
